Get ready to hear the crack of the bat and the roar of the crowd! The 2026 Major League Baseball Season is right around the corner, so here is everything you’ll need to be the stat-head of this baseball season.

When does the Season officially start?

In just a few days, the 2026 MLB season will officially commence. The San Francisco Giants host the New York Yankees on March 25, 2026. First pitch for the opening night is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. ET at the famous Oracle Park. This standalone game will also mark a new era for broadcasting, as it’s slated to be the first regular-season big league game streamed exclusively on Netflix.

When’s Opening Day for the rest of the League?

Just a day later, Thursday, March 26, 22 teams begin their run for the Commissioner’s Trophy. Those 11 games will get started with the NL Cy Young Award winner Paul Skenes pitching for the Pittsburgh Pirates against the Juan Soto ran New York Mets. Then, both Chicago teams will be up to bat at 1:10pm for the White Sox and 1:20pm for the Cubs. The rest of the day includes intense matchups with the World Series Champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers, starting a 3-day series against the up-and-coming Arizona Diamondbacks. On Friday, March 27, the last 6 teams will start their season– all with late night, 6PM or later games.

What interesting games are scheduled during the Season?

The All-Star Game will be played July 14. Philadelphia’s own Citizens Bank Park will host the illustrious event to mark the 250th anniversary year of the Declaration of Independence.

This year, every team will play 13 games against each division rival and six or seven games against each other team in the league for a total of 62 games. One three-game series against each of the 14 other teams in the opposing league will make up the remaining 48 games against inter-league rivals.

Rivalry Weekend is scheduled for May 17-19, including Milwaukee at Minnesota, Kansas City at St. Louis, Chicago’s very own “Crosstown Classic,” Cubs at White Sox, and many more.

Whether you’re counting down the days until the first pitch at Oracle Park or planning your trip to the City of Brotherly Love for the All-Star Game, the 2026 season promises to be a landmark year for the sport.
